Seven Blessings You Will Lose When You Neglect Fasting and Prayer

First thing, 2 Corinthians 11:27 states that we should fast often. It is a mandate of our covenant with the Lord. There will be a limitation of power over the demonic realm without fasting and prayer. Fasting clears things out. There are devilish powers at the back of whatever the trouble is.

All things are possible to him who believes.

Fasting weakens the flesh and when the flesh is weakened, the spirit is strengthened. The quieting of the flesh is important as the flesh is what doubts God. Romans 6 says to mortify the desires of the flesh. Your spirit will be strong as long as you feed it.

Mark 9:26 says, “And after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the boy was like a corpse, so that most of them said, “He is dead.” The enemies last flare up will always be loud and extreme. They are on their way out and make a scene. Do not back off of what you are believing for.

Even Jesus got hungry.

Jesus fasted in Matthew 4 showing He had to get His flesh into submission as well and the first thing Satan tried to do was get Jesus to break His fast.

Remember, only flesh and blood can operate in this realm. You have never seen someone buy dope from a demon. The demonic need to work through people and so does God. He wants to work through you.

Do what Christ did to get what He got.

The number one goal of every Christian is to make heaven themselves. What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?

Seven things you will lose when you neglect fasting and prayer

1. Fasting and Prayer subdues the flesh.
   • Romans 6:6 says, “We know that our old self [our human nature without the Holy Spirit] was nailed to the cross with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin.”
   • The Hebrew word for fasting means to close the mouth, hence why we abstain from food.
2. Fasting and Prayer disconnects you from the world and its patterns.
   • Romans 12:2 says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (NLT)
   • 2 Timohy 2:4 reminds us that our allegiance is to the Kingdom. “Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.”
   • 1 Peter 1:18 God paid the ransm from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors.
   • Do not do the minimum to get to heaven. There are rewards for actions.
   • Cut the ties to culture, skin color, gender, and other stereotypes and stay heavenly minded. We are here only for a brief time.
   • Have a mentality that Sunday, I am in church. I do not care what is going on.
3. Fasting and Prayer builds a strong spirit.
   • Luke 4:13-14 says, “When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time. Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside.”
   • Romans 12:9-11 says, “ [Let your] love be sincere (a real thing); hate what is evil [loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness], but hold fast to that which is good. Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another. Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.
   • Hate wickedness. Loathe ungodliness. But desire salvation for all.
     • Father, cause sin to be disgusting to me, in Jesus name.
4. Fasting and Prayer increases raw, supernatural manifestations and dominion over devils.
   • Mark 9:29 (AMPC)
5. Fasting and Prayer is a platform for dramatic breakthrough.
   • Look at the stories of Cornelius, Esther, Daniel, etc.
6. Fasting and Prayer magnetizes the right people to you.
   • Acts 10:30
7. Fasting and Prayer magnetizes the Word of the Lord to your life.
   • Acts 13:1-4 (NLT)
   • You will get a word from the Lord to help you change levels.

Father, let the course of everyone’s life change today, in Jesus’ name. Let helpers of destiny come to them. Thank you for your Word.

Without God, there will always be emptiness. Nothing will fill the void aside from God alone as He shows you purpose.
