Embrace Your Inner Strength: Lessons from Proverbs 31

Be extra. Be set apart.

It is the extra that matters. We can all do a little more.

Everyone in the Bible was extra. Esther was extra by prayer, fasting, and throwing a little party for her husband. Doing so, she saved an entire group of people. Joseph was in prison, but he did the extra and it made him second in command.

Adalis concluded her Proverbs 31 study with her mentorship group. She highlights how if you did the whole thing, you should be able to look back and see the progress and growth in your life.

If you have no signed up for her mentorship program, do that right now.

Also, she is hosting her annual Women’s Conference in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, May 7th through the 11th and you need to be there. All the information can be found on the Mentorship Page. It is open to all women and free to attend, but you must register.

Let’s get into it.

Proverbs 31

She is clothed in strength and dignity.
  • Strength

You cannot look at yourself as weak and go far. As a woman of God, you are clothed in strength and dignity. This will make you stand out.

“I cannot do this” is not a part of your vocabulary. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. You can no longer identify with a weak version of yourself.

  • Dignity

Dignity is the state or quality of being worthy of honor, respect, and self-respect. It reflects a sense of value and integrity. You are worthy of honor. It is a terrible thing to think that you are not worthy of anything. But Jesus thought that you were worth so much.

Jesus loves you enough to have paid for your sins, something you were worthy of death for.

How can you say that you are not deserving of anything?

Integrity forsakes the doubt and the double mindedness. I receive it by faith now. It reflects a sense of value for yourself and others. Carry yourself like you are worth it, because you are worth it.

You are worthy

Start carrying conversations where you look people in the eye. Do not believe the lie that you are worthless. Carry yourself differently, with power and integrity. What matters is the Word, and the Word says that you are clothed in strength and dignity. Be fully committed to the Word of God.

She laughs without fear of the future

When you have strength and dignity, you know your future is secure. Know the value you bring to the table. Know your future is secure.

She opens her mouth in skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness [giving counsel and instruction].

Proverbs 31:26 AMPC

She communicates differently

If you open your mouth, and it is not full of godly and skillful wisdom, you need to close your mouth. Sometimes it is ok to internalize somethings. You don’t need to vent everything.

Grow in grace and mercy and move on. It is ok to talk about things, but you don’t need to dig things up either.

Be conscientious about how much you are talking.

Less is more

How do you access godly and skillful wisdom?

You have the mind of Christ. Speak in the Holy Ghost to tap into the mind of Christ.

How do you stir up that mind of wisdom and intellect?

By using the Holy Ghost. It is a powerful thing. When you don’t understand something, pray in the Holy Ghost so He can lead you in the way you are to go.

Pray in the Holy Ghost for 15 minutes. “Lord, help me figure this out. I need help.” He will bring clarity in all areas. Do not limit yourself.

If the things coming out of your mouth are not being said in love, with a heart of kindness, just shut your mouth.

Let’s finish out the rest of the chapter

She looks well to how things go in her household, and the bread of idleness (gossip, discontent, and self-pity) she will not eat.

Proverbs 31:27 AMPC

The NLT says laziness, but the AMPC digs even deeper by calling it the bread of idleness. When someone has no life, they make a life of gossip, discontentment, and self-pity. It bleeds on everyone around them.

If it does not glorify God, it is better to be left unsaid, undone.

Many daughters have done virtuously, nobly, and well [with the strength of character that is steadfast in goodness], but you excel them all.

Proverbs 31:29 AMPC

A spirit of excellence is what you will possess when you apply these things to your daily life. You cannot remain still, you cannot remain small. It is impossible.

ALL things are possible to them who love and believe God.

If you can get Proverbs 31:10-31 in your spirit, you will go higher and higher.

God help us understand how easy it is to be a godly, virtuous woman. Let us fulfil everything that we read in these verses. Let us become a Proverbs 31 women, and everything that comes against this, highlight it for us so we can address it. We thank you for your strength and goodness.

Until next time, my friend.
